Introduction

Looking back into the 12th JCI Autumn Conference held on Sep. 22-23, 2016 in Fuzhou of Fujian province in SE China, our projections over market trend and suggested purchase strategies such as "lots of business opportunities amid the destocking process of massive corn stocks", "possible bull run of soybean at CBOT amid overwhelming bearish perspectives" and "improved global fishmeal supply could bring risks" have all been proved to be quite in line with market movement that follows and thus highly welcomed by the up to 600 delegates. We have successfully projected the business opportunities on corn, soymeal, fishmeal and sent special notices to our clients, who have achieved considerable profits as they followed our suggestions. Based on the experience of our past 23 semi-annual conferences, JCI is to hold the 12th JCI Spring Conference on Chinese Feed Raw Materials Market on Mar. 23-24, 2017, Thursday-Friday, in Wyndham Sanya Bay, in the famous tourist city of Sanya of Hainan province, S China. And for the fourth time in a row, there will also be a fishmeal and fish oil forum jointly organized by IFFO and JCI on Mar. 24, 2017. This conference will also be the celebration for the 15th anniversary of JCI. The conference will be held together with our long-standing partners of U.S. Grains Council (USGC), U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) and The Marine Ingredients Organisation (IFFO) and will also be served with simultaneous interpretation between Chinese and English by experienced interpreters.

China has entered a critical period of economic transformation accompanied with difficulties in supply-side reform, decreasing market dynamics, slowing tax revenue growth and depreciating currency, which composes both challenges and opportunities. The government authority has released the 13th five-year plan on the development modern agriculture (2016-2020) and vows to use modern financial tools to stimulate vitality in agriculture and complete the futures market of agri-commodities. Besides, the government also plans to reduce its intervention and direct subsidy to agriculture and make good use of both international and domestic markets so that Chinese feed and breeding industry could move on in a healthy, environment-friendly and sustainable way. Finally, Chinese agricultural industry could merge into the global market in a mutual beneficial way.

To meet the new requirements of modern agricultural development, we need to think about Chinese feed and breeding industry in a more macro way and re-evaluate the global agri-commodity market so as to seize the cope with the challenges and seize the business opportunities. It is right under this background that JCI, together with our long-standing partners of U.S. Grains Council (USGC), U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) and The Marine Ingredients Organization (IFFO), will hold the 12th JCI Spring Conference on Chinese Feed Raw Materials Market & IFFO/JCI Fishmeal and Fish Oil Forum on Mar. 23-24, 2017, in Wyndham Sanya Bay, in the famous tourist city of Sanya of Hainan province, S China.
